I put together quite a few ranger-only groups in the Crystal Desert. People thought I was bonkers (noob, idiot, etc etc, yada yada). I got the groups though, always, and not one of them had any monk skills - just Troll ung.
Eight barragers wiped out all enemies from afar before they had a chance. It isn't always the best strategy to be diverse in classes - sometimes the best way is to be class-phobic!
Now I get to add in Pyre too - that's gonna be pretty nice.

That we have heroes of a Factions and Nightfall professions as heroes who are apparently native Tyrians (as opposed to the rit and Dervish, who are from the proper continents). Especially the sin, who's got a Tyrian look and has been there since the Searing...
Anyone else notice the bit about Pyre being the son of [wiki]Vatlaaw Doomtooth[/wiki]? Wonder how he'll react when he finds out we killed his old man all those years back...

I've known Gwen was going to be the mesmer hero since almost 2 months ago. Where have all you been?

Koss is pretty close to being a Kurzick. His armour even resembles Kurzick armour.
He's also very similar to Lukas.

Hayda could of originated from Elona. The Chinese Manual was roughly translated by a poster and her translated description ( i know its not 100%) was she wanted to travel the world and one day become a legendary hero. She could of broke free of the Sunspears and headed to Tyria.
Anton on the other hand is stated to be Ascalonian.....its possible he choose to become a freelance Assassin rather than head to Shing Jea to study further. I'm guessing he was put on death row after Assassinating someone and getting caught (i cant really see Ascalon being like Cantha and letting people run around killing each other)
It wouldnt be too hard to become an Assassin really...
Oh and thank you for pointing me to that info about Pyre - I find little things like that interesting. It will be fun to see how it pans out (if at all Pyre got along with Vatlaw)
Off-topic: Just noticed Anet are now saying Eye of the North takes place 8 years after the searing. So this makes Gwens narratation a flashback?

First thing I thought of when I read the background of Anton was, "Hey, why can't we make Ascalonian sins, too!?"

awesome news thanks for posting this Patrick
I really wish they allowed at least 6 heroes per party though It gets annoying having to whip out the second account or ask a buddy to supply the extra heroes for that odd vanquish run here and there heheh

Sounds like the heroes in this game will each have much more detailed backgrounds than in nightfall. Can't wait to play this game . Only a week until the preview!

Awesome. Anyone who watched Pinky and The Brain or The Critic remembers his Orson Welles styled voices on those series.

Did anyone read Gwen's description?
"Gwen is an Ascalon woman in the Ebon Vanguard, who narrowly escaped the Charr 8 years ago in the Searing. She was affected greatly by the event that destroyed her home kingdom, and now lives for revenge. "
In the video Gwen said she left 6 years ago? Am I correct?

"Pyre Fierceshot is a Charr ranger hero in Eye of the North. He is an outcast, disowned by the Shaman due to his anger at the Titans being used as an excuse to destroy Ascalon. Despite this, there are still tensions between him and Gwen. He is the son of Vatlaaw Doomtooth."
Thats pretty cool.

to those confused about tyrian paragons, sins etc:
just because assassins are exclusive to factions for us, doesnt mean that they are exclusive to factions for NPC's. for all we know, theres a nice little assassin training camp hidden anyway somewhere in the shiverpeaks that our characters have no access to :P *pictures togo sending assasins away after graduation, the sins setting up schools in hidden corners of tyria and elona*
